Tracey Levett’s exhibition has been extended until the end of June. Don’t miss your chance to see Levett’s new works at the Australian Consulate’s gallery. Please contact the consulate via telephone at +1 212 351 6500 to schedule a visit.

LUMINESSENCE has Levett’s most recent painting series on view. Previously the Australian artist has attained success as a singer and songwriter, however her innate creative capacities appeal to the ontology of art. Her work depicts the juxtaposition of light and dark with intuitive applications of stark white brush strokes, transcending lines of text, and confronting contours of brazen yet organic forms. Impressively, the self-taught painter masters “white” with ease. In turn, LUMINESSENCE attracts not only art enthusiasts but also those who subscribe to formal abstraction.

Moreover, LUMINESSENCE allows the viewer to participate in global viewing of art as more and more embassies and consulates invite international artists to New York City’s artworld. The viewer may submerse his or herself in Australian contemporary art and culture.
